Starting off (in too many directions)
Hi Corey. I use the JS compost in my garden and find it a great soil amendment. Living in Montana, it takes 2 years to break down. I’m trying mainly wood chips in my JS for the first time. I’m also starting a new garden this summer. Thanks for sharing your process.

Terminating Stunted Cover Crops: Scrap the Plan or Proceed as Normal?
Disregard the concern. Between 4/25/2025 and 5/14/2025 the rye shot up approximately 2′ reaching a height between 4′-5′ on average. I also checked my records and I used a “variety” rye and not Elbon like my previous years. Whether the rye matured slower due to weather conditions or not being Elbon rye, I am not sure. All in all though, I…

how have you used the redox potential course knowledge?
I had a client with a severe case of septoria. They were in Maine. The consensus from regional farmers was that their crop wasn’t going to make it. This was an important crop of Medicinal Cannabis with many children showing incredible reductions in their brain cancer. All under the watchful eye of a Harvard-educated doctor, and monthly…

Measuring Nutrient Density in Harvested Crops
Last time I checked, I think they said it was $85. If memory serves me correctly, they do SAP testing too. If I recall correctly, I had a cannabis client many years ago, and they would not accept cannabis leaf from out of state, so I went with New Age Labs. I have heard nothing but good things about Apical.

Measuring Nutrient Density in Harvested Crops
After listening to the Regenerative Agriculture Podcast, I reached out to Herb @ Squeeze Citrus and asked him about the lab he used. He sent his samples to Apical Labs in Oregon (https://apical-ag-home.com/crop-nutrient-analysis/). Herb said they provided “proteins, sugars, phenolic (key nutrients – flavonoids, carotenoids, phytoalexins)…

Terminating Stunted Cover Crops: Scrap the Plan or Proceed as Normal?
Broadcast Winter Rye (2 bu/ac) & Crimson Clover (26 lb/ac) on October 14, 2024. The pictures attached are from today, April 25, 2025. This is my first time mixing cover crops together and I am concerned because the rye is not nearly as tall as it normally is planted alone. Last year at this time, the rye was between 36″ – 48″ tall and…

Last season was a total wash for growing. 2024, we received no significant rain. All the seedz laid dormant throughout the season. This season, we received some rain, but not as much as we normally do, but it was enough to germinate the seedz. I normally don’t have to water until late June to early July during a normal rainy season. This year, I…

Hey – Joined the Regenerative Ag in the Tropics/Subtropics group – late now, but definitely will comment asap! Btw, sounds as if you have one of the primary things I am looking for in a partner – knowledge of and experience with soil science!
